Library Corner: Books for Babies kits now available at Rr Library

Encourage your little person to become a life-long reader with a Books for Babies Kit from the Rainy River Public Library!
Each kit is a free resource for first-time parents living in thlibrary’s Canadian service area.
In each kit, you’ll find:
•your baby’s first library card
•the lovely board book Read to Your Bunny by Rosemary Wells
•ideas to encourage family reading
•a custom Rainy River Public Library book bag, and
•some gifts that show your baby was “Born to Read!”
To get a free kit, your first child must be born after July 1, 2012.
Parents must live in the Town of Rainy River, the Townships of Dawson,
Lake of the Woods or Morley, or at the Big Grassy River First Nation.
The program is funded by a $500 grant from the Sarah Badgley Literacy Fund for Rural Ontario Children.
Books for Babies Kits will be available from the Rainy River Public Library after Family Literacy Day – January 27, 2013.
To mark Family Literacy Day, the library will also be offering “15 Minutes of Fun” on Saturday, January 26.
Parents, caregivers and kids of all ages are invited to visit the library during regular hours (11 a.m.-4 p.m.) to enjoy some literacy games and activities.
Everyone who takes part will win a prize.
