$1,000 bursary to be offered again this year

On March 5th, there were 11 members present and the meeting opened with the Auxiliary prayer.
The minutes of the last meeting were read by Carolee Hogue.
The Tuck Shop will be open on Saturdays, with Elsie Gerula working.
A Valentine's Day party was held in the Long Term Care hosted by Lena Beuckert, Joyce Penner and Darlene Armstrong.
Dawn Jarvis gave the financial report and stated that a $1,000.00 Bursary would again be awarded to a R.R.H.S. student entering the field of medicine.
The pop machine has been removed by the hospital as it was not a viable proposition.
A report on the Riverside Foundation meeting was prepared by Bev Langner. Items included were a party and 22 new residents at Rainycrest, their St. Patrick's Day tea to be held on March 15th, and the donation of a pre-lit Christmas tree to the facility. Emo will be holding a Shamrock tea and Bake Sale, also will be having a quilt draw in their fall bazaar, with tickets available now. A new website is now on line for the Foundation.
The 'old bag luncheon' will be held on May 5th at Robert Moore School in Fort Frances - anyone wishing to attend should contact Bev.
Our Strawberry Social will be held on May 8th at the Legion. A report for the Board for January and February was submitted by Gill Stamler. Cards have been sent to the family of Vivian Hartnell on her passing, and to Ruth Holt at St. Joseph's Hospital in Thunder Bay. The members voted to give a $50.00 donation to the Rainy River Hospital in memory of Vivian Hartnell.
The Spring Conference will be held in Fort Frances on April 13th - $15.00 for luncheon and $10.00 for registration. A large flowering plant will be purchased for the Long Term Care Commons Room for Easter.
The meeting was adjourned and our next one will be on Tuesday, April 2nd at 1 p.m. at the Hospital .
