Legion Chat: General meeting scheduled for this Wednesday

There will be a General Meeting this Wednesday, March 27, 2013.
Reporting from District Meeting at Ear Falls. We have a new District Commander, it is Warren Copeland from the Oxdrift Branch, more details to follow.
Not having much to talk about, I will take a short trip into history. We have a roll of honour from WWI hanging on Walter's memory corner. It has a hand written account of local soldiers who died or were wounded in action. It gives me goose bumps to look at this document which is almost 100 years old. It originally hung in the United Church.
We also have a framed document given to Private Hugo Lund, signed by King George R I. It stated "served with honour" and was disabled in the Great War. Honourably discharged on May 25, 1918. This is two of many documents honouring our Veterans.
