Aux. donates $1,000 to Locum House
Submitted by
Irene Hanson
With 14 members present we opened our meeting by all reading the Auxiliary Prayer.
Carolee Hogue read the minutes of the last meeting and they were accepted as read.
Dawn Jarvis gave the financial report, and since both our general account and lottery account are in good standing, it was decided to give a second $1,000 bursary for the your 2013 to a student who is going on to the medical field.
Also it was brought to our attention, the locum house is ready to go, but needs some minor incidentals, i.e. coffee pot, toaster, etc. We gave a donation of $1,000 towards the purchase of items needed.
Discussed some time ago, and brought up again, we try to get a plaque to honour those who were 100 years plus, resided within the hospital, and have passed away. We have had several. Bev will look into this and report back to us. Also discussed was using the tuck shop area as a small coffee shop, where patients and family could sit and visit. This would require some changes, so nothing is definite at this time.
Friday we catered a party for the long term residents, with Elsie, Myrna and Jeannette looking after it. Angel food cake and trimmings will be served.
Events coming up - May 5th - Mama needs new accessories, held at the Robert Moore School, by the Fort Frances Auxiliary.
