AGE 84
Bert Severt Storkson, age 84 years of Bergland, Ontario passed away on Wednesday, April 27, 2005 at the Rainy River Hospital in Rainy River, Ontario.
He was born on January 24, 1921 in Bergland, Ontario to the late Carla and Cecilia Storkson. In 1942, he joined active service with the Canadian Army and served in Canada until his discharge due to medical reasons. In his earlier days, he worked at the Lath Mill in Bergland half the day, while attending school the other half of the day. He also worked at the Co-Op Store in Bergland as Clerk. Bert later logged and farmed in Bergland for many years. He loved to play the violin as well as other instruments. He loved gardening and was considered to have had the best garden in the area. Bert was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Bergland, Ontario for many years.
He was predeceased by three brothers, Clarence, Albert and Selmer Storkson; and by two sisters Gladys Englund and Cora Blanchard.
Bert is survived by one brother Harry Storkson of Bergland, Ontario; and by numerous nieces and nephews in the Rainy River District.
Funeral services were held on Monday, May 2, 2005 at 2 p.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Bergland, Ontario.
Carolyn Kreger Lay Pastor will officiate with interment in Bergland Cemetery in Bergland, Ontario.
Friends may visit prior to services on Monday afternoon from 1 p.m. until service time.
The active pallbearers were Ashley Andrews, Adam Andrews, Bobby Tofte, Ross Peterson, Keith Blanchard and Dennis Ivall.
The honorary pallbearers will be Wilfred Johnson, Jim McLean, Phil Neil, Oswald Trapness, Leonard Larsen and Art Anderson
