Don’t destroy other people’s property
Rosemary Tetu
Letter to the editor,
Three year ago Riverview students, parents, staff and myself planted a variety of trees and shrubs in the school yards. These trees are really taking hold and will add a great deal of beauty to our school yard as well as different learning aspects to our students.
This past weekend several of the trees had branches ripped off and some trees were broken in half. Now I realize that kids are kids and at onetime or another we as children did something silly like taking tomatoes from a garden or picking lilacs from someone’s trees. But this is clearly vandalism.
None of us here in Rainy River would like to believe that our children would do something like this, but obviously they did. We understand that there were two sightings of “young adults” fooling around in the school yard but no-one could identify them.
What I am asking is that you please speak to your children about this and try and encourage them not to destroy other peoples property. With your support and understanding on this matter you may save them from getting themselves into further trouble someday.
