Town asked to try and silence noise

Ken Johnston

Rainy River town council was asked by long time Rainy River resident Ken Johnson if they could do something about the noise coming from the hospital.
A machine runs steady on the 5th Street side of the facility and Johnson is bothered by it. His daughter was at the council meeting to ask if baffling could be erected to redirect the sound up.
Council agreed to look at the matter.
Fire Dept. Grant
The Rainy River Volunteer Fire Dept. received a $50,000 grant from the government to be used for training and equipment.
Councillor Dennis Ewald noted that the dept had a meeting last week and has a list of items they would like to spend the money on, including a joint training effort across the district. Council approved transferring $5,000 from the grant towards such an effort.
