Charges laid for extensive criminal offences

As a result of an investigation by Ontario Provincial Police officers with the Fort Frances Community Drug Action Team (CDAT), Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB), Thunder Bay Drug Enforcement Unit, North West Region Crime Unit, North West Region Emergency Response Unit and Rainy River District Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police, one male has been charged with several criminal offences.
On July 12, 2013 at 4:14 pm, officers executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a residence located within the 1100 block of Kings Highway in Fort Frances, ON. As a result, officers located and seized several types of controlled substances including: Morphine, Oxycocet, Fentanyl, Methadone, Cannabis Resin and several Marihuana plants grown inside the residence. In addition, officers seized 12 firearms.
During the course of the investigation, officers consulted with several agencies including Health Canada, Kenora-Rainy River Districts Child and Family Services and the Town of Fort Frances.
Jeremy JOHNSON, age 39 years of Fort Frances, ON has been charged with the following offences:
- 4 counts of Possession of a Scheduled One Drug contrary to Section 4(1) CDSA
- 1 count of Possession of a Scheduled Two Drug contrary to Section 4(1) CDSA
- 1 count of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm contrary to Section 91(1) CC
He is scheduled to appear in court on August 26, 2013 at 9:30 am in Fort Frances.
Also as a result of an investigation conducted by Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers with the Fort Frances Community Drug Action Team (CDAT), Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB), Rainy River District OPP Detachment members, North West Region Crime Unit, North West Region Emergency Response Team (ERT), one adult male and one adult female were arrested and charged with drug offences.
On July 12, 2013, police executed a Controlled Drug and Substances Act search warrant at a residence located on the 200 block of Fourth Street West in Fort Frances, ON. As a result, police seized marihuana, cannabis resin, marihuana “shake”, drug paraphernalia and cash.
Elaine McGILLIS, age 49, of Fort Frances, ON and Dwayne Arnold BROSSART, age 49, of Fort Frances, ON have been charged with the following offences:
1) Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking of Schedule II Drugs contrary to Section 5(2) CDSA
2)Possession of Schedule II Drug - Cannabis Resin, contrary to Section 4(1) CDSA
Both are scheduled to appear in court on August 26, 2013 at 9:30 am in Fort Frances.
As a result of an investigation conducted by Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers with the Fort Frances Community Drug Action Team (CDAT), Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB), Rainy River District OPP Detachment members, North West Region Crime Unit, North West Region Emergency Response Team (ERT) and North West Region Canine Unit, one male youth from Emo, ON has been arrested and charged with drug offences.
On June 24, 2013, police executed a Controlled Drug and Substances Act search warrant on a parcel of property located in Emo Township. As a result, police seized 21 marihuana plants from three separate marihuana grow plantations. Furthermore, police seized marihuana stems, hash oil and firearms from a residence. The male is charged with Production of a Scheduled II Drug contrary to section 7(1) CDSA and Possession of a Scheduled II Drug contrary to section 4(1) CDSA.
The male youth is scheduled to appear in court on August 26, 2013 at 9:30 am in Fort Frances.
