Rec. board gearing up for July 1st and RR Daze

On May 3 the Rainy River Youth Soccer began. We have 106 kids playing on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We have children from ages 5 to 13 participating. This has proved to be a wonderful sport that the kids are loving.
Our annual Railroad Daze mixed ball tournament will take place on July 22, 23, and 24th. First 16 teams registered and paid accepted. We already have 3 teams entered, so don’t wait, enter your team today by calling 852-4446. We have kids events and activities lined up for the weekend, a variety show sponsored by The Rainy River Early Years Centre. The Cardboard Boat race on Sunday. Posters with events and times will be out soon. If you have any events or activity you would like to run, give me a call.
July 1st is just around the corner. We have a great day planned. On Thursday evening The Rainy River Rec Board and the Rainy River Fire Dept. will be holding a street dance (to be held at the rec centre if raining) ages 16 and up. Come out and dance to the music provided by the band The Faculty.
On Friday some of the events that will be happening are a pancake breakfast, a parade, fireman’s mini Olympic challenge, pig roast, kids games, face painting etc.
The Duck Race is back on for this year’s celebration. Only 700 tickets printed.
All proceeds will go towards a permanent full sized basketball court constructed on the old tennis court. So don’t be disappointed buy your ticket before they are all sold.
The Rainy River Recreation Board Inc. will be offering a smart serve course on Monday July 11 starting at 6 p.m. Pre registration is required. 10 spots are available, so call to register at 852-4446.
