Christmas bazaar booked for Dec. 1st

President Joyce Penner opened our October meeting of the Rainy River Hospital Auxiliary with the Auxiliary Prayer, followed by the Minutes of the last meeting and the Treasurer’s Report.
Dawn Jarvis gave her Treasurer’s report and then announced that she is resigning from her position as Treasurer and that Donna McDonald has agreed to take her position. Welcome Donna to the Hospital Auxiliary and thanks for taking on an executive position!
Nancy Schaak reported that volunteers are needed to sell Break Open tickets at Beaver Mills Market. Dawn Jarvis and Myrna Armstrong volunteered to work.
Myrna Armstrong gave the Tuck Shop Report and then it was decided that Elsie Gerula assume the responsibilities of treasurer/manager of the Tuck Shop as of October 1st.
Irene Hanson reported that the Auxiliary has two new members. Welcome to Marina Greenwood and Donna McDonald!
Bev Langner reported that the Foundation Event in Emo was very successful. Relay For Life gave the Foundation a donation and Rainy River Resources donated to the Emo and the Rainy River Health Centres to upgrade their Palliative Care. The Lunch of Hope will be held at La Place Rendez-vous in Fort Frances and tickets will be available at the desk at the Rainy River Health Care Centre for $25.00 each. Emo Hospital Auxiliary will hold their Fall Tea on October 18th at the Legion in Emo. Rainycrest celebrated three, One hundred year old birthdays and have 21 new residents. Rainycrest is helping with the upcoming Blood Donor Clinic. La Verendrye Hospital will hold their tea on October 26 and there will be a cash draw.
There will be a Halloween Party for the Long Term Care Residents. Joyce and Jeanette volunteered to bake cupcakes and decorate them in orange and black.
Three large flower planters have been delivered and placed in the front of the Hospital and Joyce Penner has volunteered to buy and plant tulips in them so they will look lovely in the spring. Thank you to Joyce and John Penner for their work in ordering and delivering them to the hospital.
The Recreation Center has been booked for our Auxiliary Christmas Bazaar on December 1, 2013. Please put the date on your calendar and plan to attend!
Our next meeting will be held on November 5, 2013 at 1 p.m. in the Hospital Board Room. Everyone is welcome. Please come and help us plan for our Christmas Bazaar.
