Bazaar is Dec. 1st

Seventeen members attended our regular meeting on November 5th. President Joyce Penner opened the meeting with our Auxiliary Prayer, followed by the Minutes of the last meeting and the Treasurer’s Report. Elsie Gerula reported for the Tuck Shop, which is open on Saturdays from 2:00 to 4 p.m. If you need an item any other day from the Tuck Shop just come into the hospital and ask the receptionist during regular business hours from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Elsie asked if anyone could make scrubbies for the Tuck Shop as her supply is running low. Jeanette Armstrong reported for the Social Committee, that the Halloween Party for the Residents had been a success. Irene Hanson of the Membership Committee reminded us that she will have a table at the Bazaar if anyone wants to join us. Everyone is welcome to join!
Bev Langner reported that Riverside Foundation is doing a Christmas appeal letter again this year, Rainycrest received a plaque for 60 years of service and Shoppers Home Health donated a scooter to the Laverendrye Hospital Auxiliary. Two of the members of their auxiliary received Life Memberships in the HAAO. They were Dixie Badiuk and Marg Kurcher. Congratulations, Ladies! The Laverendrye Hospital Auxiliary bought two striker beds for the hospital. Emo Auxiliary had a successful tea and plan to lay a wreath on Remembrance Day.
There will be a Spring Conference in Thunder Bay on April 11 and 12, 2014.
So keep that date open on your calendar!
Our Christmas Bazaar was discussed and organized. We will set up for the Bazaar at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 30th. Please plan to come and help if you can!
The Bazaar will be held at the Recreation Center at 2 p.m. on Sunday, December 1st.
If you have any Penny Table items you wish to donate, you may leave them at the residence of Rene and Carolee Hogue, 303 Third Street in Rainy River, or bring them to the Set Up at the Rec Center on November 30th or call Dawn Jarvis at 852-3952 with the price of your gift as we need to know this to obtain a license. Please have your gift item at Carolee’s or make a call to Dawn by November 25th.
Our next meeting will be held on MONDAY, December 2nd at the Rainy River Legion at 12:30 p.m. Please sign up at Wood’s Bakery, if you wish to attend, by November 25th. The cost is $10.00.
