Legion Chat: 100th anniversary of WW I in 2014

Seeing that this could be our last entry for 2013, we want to wish all our members a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and may 2014 be a good year.

In 2014 it will be a hundred years since the beginning of WWI, the 150th anniversary establishing of Canada as a nation.

All you have to do is look at our cenotaphs under WWI to see how patriotic our local youth were. It is also Rainy River's 110th birthday. A good time for a celebration, reunions, parties and much more. Let's do something.

This Saturday is the Christmas Party for the Legion and the culmination of our 50/50 draw.
It looks like the General Meeting will be held on December 30th, because our regular day falls on Christmas Day. Our sympathies go out to the Fort Frances Branch on the passing of Glen Westover, one of their most dedicated members.
