Library Corner: You could win an e-reader!
By Michael Dawber
CEO/Librarian
You could win a Kobo eBook Reader at the Rainy River Public Library!
On Saturday, January 25, the Library will run a draw for the Kobo during our programs for Family Literacy Day.
Each year, Family Literacy Day encourages parents, caregivers and kids to learn and read together.
The Library’s program includes an on-line scavenger hunt for children and a “book bingo” for adults.
We encourage families to work together on both.
Correctly answer at least four questions on either sheet, and you can enter our draw.
Drop by anytime between 11 am and 4 pm to take part.
Answer sheets must be turned in by 4 pm on January 25.
The winner will be drawn randomly from the box on Tuesday, January 28.
Family Literacy Day is organized each year by ABC Life Literacy Canada.
Don’t forget: you can encourage your child to read every day with our Books for Babies Kits.
Our kits include board books, tips on reading with your family, baby’s first library card, and some gifts that tell the world your little one was “Born to Read!”
Our kits are free to first-time parents in the library’s service area.
Your baby must have arrived since July 1, 2012.
Our Books for Babies Kits were made possible by a grant the Sarah Badgley Literacy Fund for Rural Ontario Children.
We look forward to seeing you again soon!
