Gillon's completes merger with Thunder Bay company
From a 15-year relationship, a merger that started more than two years ago is now complete.
Thunder Bay Insurance is now part of the Gillons’ Insurance network of eight offices that serve more than 26,000 customers in Northern Ontario with business, home, and auto insurance solutions.
“Today we are demonstrating our commitment to Thunder Bay and Northern Ontario with the unveiling of our new sign and the announcement of our new offices in the downtown core on Red River Road and St. Paul Street,” Gillons’ president and CEO said Friday.
“Construction is ongoing and we will be moving in to the new space in April.
“We want to thank those people who have made Gillons’ their choice for insurance,” Cridland added.
“Gillons’, like Thunder Bay Insurance, is committed to developing the communities in which we live,” he noted.
One of Gillons’ community commitments is to get youth involved in active team sports.
“Today we are proud to announce a three-year, $45,000 partnership with the Thunder Bay Chill to hold youth development camps in Thunder Bay, Fort Frances, Dryden, and Kenora to teach basic skills specific to passing, shooting, receiving, and team play from licensed certified coaches in a fun, inclusive atmosphere,” Cridland said.
“Gillons’ has been supporters of youth development with the Chill through the Thunder Bay office for a couple of years now,” noted Chill coach Dave Colistro.
“And on behalf of the whole Chill organization, we are extremely pleased that this commitment will provide a longer term, stable source of funding to get northern youth involved in active sports,” he added.
