Additional deer tags available again this year

In addition to the regular draw, additional game seals for deer will be available again this year in northwestern Ontario. The phone-in for additional seals begins on August 8th.
This system allows hunters to acquire up to six additional seals for antlerless deer Province-wide, with a maximum of two seals for any WMU in northwestern Ontario offering two seals.” said John Van den Broeck, a ministry biologist with the Fort Frances District. Van den Broeck stresses the importance of harvest information supplied by deer hunters. “All hunters receive a survey with the additional seals. It is crucial for us to receive harvest information from deer hunters to ensure that this management tool is successful.”
