FWI donates to the Pumpkin Festival

Forest Women’s Institute met on August thirtieth at the home of Laurel Desrosier. There were eleven members present. The meeting was opened with the Women’s Ode read by Rose Hanson. Roll call was bring bears to help fill the police cruiser. This was answered by eleven members.
Minutes of the last meeting were read by Carol Clifford and approved by the members. The financial Report was given by Annie Von Rosen and approved by the members.
The bills were turned in. A motion to pay all bills was made by Joyce Penner and seconded by Rose Hanson.
We will make a donation to the Pumpkin Festival. The only correspondence over the summer was a letter of introduction from the new manager of the Rose Program. Eleanor Wieresma gave a report from the Museum Board.
The following activities are planned to raise money to keep our district museum operating. The closing tea will be held on September nineteenth at the museum starting at eleven A.M.There will be a Harvest Supper at the Bergland Hall On October First.
This supper will include entertainment. The Christmas tea and quilt raffle will be held on Dec. third. The Sick and Visiting committee reported that one visit was made over the summer. The next meeting will be at the home of Peggy Livingston on October eleventh. The meeting was adjourned. The door prize was won by Joyce Penner and the draw was won by Rose Hanson. A delicious lunch was served by our hostess.
