Rental rates for the grader and the plow truck will be increased to $75.00 per hour. Council will proceed with a petition for drainage on Frenchman’s Rock Road. This petition covers the northern portion of Lots # 14, 15, & 16 Conc.1 and the southern portion of Lots # 14, 15, & 16 Conc. 2 in Morson.
Council will further appoint Ken Smart Associates Ltd. as Engineer for the project.
Old Business: Clerk P. Giles advised Council that the number signs and metal posts for the 911 and Fire services will be costly. They should be in place in approximately 2 weeks. Each resident will be responsible for keeping those numbers visible. That involves cutting the tall grasses or bushes and removing the snow which covers the signs. Those number signs should not be removed. Residents should notify Clerk P. Giles or Road Supt. Ed. Pearson if there is any damage to the sign so it can be restored.
Ontario Disaster Relief Assistance Program (ODRAP) representative for L.O.W.
Township is Ernie McCormack of Morson. Council members and Clerk Giles attended an information meeting at the request of Rainy River First Nations regarding a land claim.
New Business: Council discussed at length the question of the need for one large central land-fill site as opposed to the two present sites. Rainycrest is requesting letters of support from the municipalities to assist them in lobbying the Government for more money. Council agrees and will send such a letter.
The town of Fort Frances is inviting municipalities to meet with the consultant with regard to the proposed jail/remand centre issues on Nov.22.
The next meeting will be on Dec. 4 in Bergland.
