On January 2, 2015 at 2:47 am, officers of the Rainy River District Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Rainy River District Emergency Medical Services (EMS) were dispatched to the scene of a fatal motor vehicle collision on Lake Despair involving one snow machine.
