You are here
Your work does not go unnoticed
Letter to the editor,
I’d just like for you to know Ken, that I’ve been receiving the “Rainy River Record” here through my dad for the past couple of years or so, and I “really” like to be kept up to date on the comings and goings around the town.
Also, Ken, I’d like to let you know that I really appreciate the good work you’re doing around the community, and hope that you continue in that department. I can tell by the effort that you put into the paper, Ken, that it means a lot more to you than just a “menial” job, shall we say: And I’m sure I speak from others as well, when I say that it means a lot to “those of us”, who aren’t still living in the community, to be able to keep up on the “comings and goings” of those things near n’ dear to us all. Now I don’t want to sound all mushy here Ken, just stating the obvious is all. To “me” anyways. And I’m sure I’m not the only one.
On a more personal note, though, shall we say, as for your “last” article Ken, the one concerning Halloween shall we say: I, too, still remember the “Caramel Candy Apples” that Mrs. Marr used to give out to all us kids at Halloween. Yes, things have certainly gone “down-hill” in “that” department these days now haven’t they? (LOL)
And I’m not quite sure I got the jest of your “Potato dumpling” recipe there or not Ken, but if by chance you “do” have a good recipe for them, I’d certainly appreciate that too.
I can remember when “my” family used to go out to Bergland each and every Sunday Ken to my Great Grandmothers on my Mothers side, and that “Potato Dumpling” recipe happened to be “her” particular recipe of choice, and let me tell you another thing Ken: If I could get myself another recipe “half” as good as her’s, I’d sure appreciate it: Okay then, Ken, just figured I’d let you know that your work wasn’t going “un-noticed” here from us “out-of-towners” shall we say.
PS: Congratulations on your NHL thing coming up there in Rainy: Here’s hoping everything goes well for the community. Bye for now.
