Anthony (Tony) Pizey, 67

The family of Anthony (Tony) Pizey announce his passing at St Boniface Palliative Care unit on November 1st 2005 after a long and courageous battle with Cancer.
Tony was born in Kingston –upon- Thames England the oldest son of William and Jean Pizey on December 13th 1937. After graduation from school Tony worked for the Post office in England, before joining the Royal Engineers and serving in Egypt and England.
Following discharge from the forces,  Tony was employed in the Poultry Industry in various positions. In 1966 Tony and his family immigrated to Canada and lived in Southern Ontario, Manitoba and British Columbia, before settling in Bergland in 1972.
For many years Tony was employed in the Tourist industry before setting up his own Greenhouse business in Bergland which he operated many years before his retirement.
Tony is survived by his wife and companion of 46 years, Valerie, his sons Ian ( Nancy) of Kenora, Stuart of Winnipeg. His daughters Yvonne (Tim) Gouliquer of Bergland Ontario, Karen ( Jeff) Reid of Winnipeg. He leaves also his grandchildren Robert (Shirya), Michael and Amanda Gouliquer, Sean Pizey, Myles and Candace Reid. Recently,  throughout his illness he took special comfort from his Great Grandson Aaron.
He is also survived by his brothers Bill and John Pizey and their families and special cousin Pat Varey, who was like a sister to him, in England.
Tony will be missed also by his very dear friends Stella Olson and her children, Theresa, Barbara and Susie Olson. Missing him badly at home will be Sasha and Max.
At Tony’s request cremation has taken place and no formal services will be held. The Family invites all friends to share in a remembrance of Tony’s life at the home of his eldest daughter Yvonne at 9761 highway 600 in Bergland Ontario, between noon and 4:00 PM on November 12th 2005.
The Family would like to thank the staff of Cancer Care Manitoba and the staff of the palliative care ward at St Boniface for their tender care during his illness. Valerie would like to give a special Thank You to Amy Big George for all her love and support during this difficult time.
