At the next Morson Women’s Institute meeting, l2:30 p.m. Nov. l7th, at the Morson Hall, three tickets for W.I. quilts will be drawn. One for the queen-size quilt, one for the lap quilt, and one for the crib-size quilt.
The names of the lucky winners will be in our next report in the Rainy River Record.
Asta Westberg, Ruth Brett and Nancy Miller were guests at the Oct. 20th W.I. meeting at Buena Vista Resort. Ruth gave a report on the W.I. Harvest Dinner at the Bergland Hall, which raised approximately $900 for the District W.I. Museum at Emo. It was an enjoyable evening, with planned and unexpected entertainment. She also gave us a report on the Area Convention that she attended in September in Thunder Bay.
Asta gave our Tweedsmuir Representative JoAnne Moen an old W.I. minute book found by Harvey Larson. It was dated l94l-l943. JoAnn read some of the minutes to us, including one that informed us that as far back as the 40’s local W.I.’s were holding quilt raffles!
Mary Sanderson will lay a wreath for us at the Nov. llth Remembrance Day Service in Rainy River.
The Morson W.I. Christmas Pot Luck Dinner will be at 5:30 p.m. on Dec. l0th at the Morson Hall. Santa Claus will attend.
