O.P.P. lay several charges against Rainy River man

On February 4th, 2006 at approximately 5:20 pm the Rainy River OPP attempted to stop a SUV towing a trailer on Hwy #11 west of Worthington Road # 3. The vehicle continued its trip traveling at approximately 70 km/h. The vehicle was observed disobeying road signs and failing to yield to other motorists. The 1995 GMC Jimmy was eventually stopped at the junction of Blue Road # 2 and Hwy # 612.
The driver of the vehicle Derek E. Brown, age 27 of Rainy River, had been drinking and had to be forcibly removed from the vehicle. He was arrested and charged with Impaired Driving, Drive Over 80mgs, and Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Criminal Code. He was also charged with Failing to Stop for Police contrary to the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario. He will appear in Rainy River court on February 23rd, 2006.
On February 6th, 2006 at approximately 1:50 am the Fort Frances OPP were called to a disturbance at an apartment in the 200 block of Scott St. The officers located two subjects who had been drinking and were known to police as being on probation. Crystal Enns, age 19 of Fort Frances, was arrested and charged with Breach of Probation contrary to the Criminal Code. She was released from custody and will appear in court on February 27th, 2006. The other subject, Nathan Shoemaker, age 20 of Lavallee, was also arrested and charged with Breach of Probation. He was held in custody and will appear in court today February 6th at 10:00 am.
