Chojko-Bolec wins Bergland Pokerama

The weather was perfect for the 17th annual Bergland Pokerama Saturday. There was a light dusting of snow in the morning and the sun peaked out to make for a great ride in the poker rally that afternoon.
In the morning about a dozen children took part in kids games that saw many win prizes.
The poker rally saw 42 hands go out for a snowmobile ride. Coming in first was Cora Chojko-Bolec with three 10s. She won $200. 2nd was Linda Holmes with three 9s. She won $90. In 3rd place it was Linda and Doug Kreger with a pair of Aces and a pair of Jacks to win $40. Low hand was Marg Johnsrud with a 9 high.
For those who did not want to ride, there was a cribbage tournament with five tables of competitors. Coming in 1st was Mary Anne McCormack and Val Pizey with 920 pts. They won $50. 2nd was Larry Bernst and Mark Brusven with 874 pts. They won $20. 3rd was Rick Westberg and Dave DeNouyer. They won $10. High hand was Chipper Bourre with 21.
A smear tourney saw three tables competing. Sparkie and Linda Holmes won with 70 pts. and took home $40. 2nd was Jodi Gouliquer and Sheila Gate with 66 pts. They won $20. 3rd was a split between Jeff Olson and Barry Lundgren with Jamie Lundgren and Mark Pentney.
Organizer Sheila Gate said the day was a great success and said they are looking forward to the next big event out there; the annual Morson Ice Fishing Derby on March 25th.
