It was pretty much all walleye at the 9th Annual Morson Live Release Ice Fishing Derby on Saturday.
Of the 70 fish caught 65 of them were walleye, four were perch and one northern pike.
Since there was only one northern caught organizers chose to offer more walleye prizes. First place went to Wanda Lundgren with 2lb. 3oz. fish for $200 in prize money. Second Mark Judovsky, 1lb. 14oz., $100, third Donna Moen, 1lb. 8oz., $75, fourth John Meyers, 1lb. 5 oz., $50, fifth Mary Anne McCormack, 1lb. 5oz., $50. Mystery weight was 3.5 oz. and went to Phil Neil and Eric Olson who tied. Neil won a sunflower heater and Olson a cooler.
Four people each caught one perch and each received an ice fishing rod and reel. They were Arlene Furyk, Alex Hapka, Pete Andy and Mary Anne McCormack.
Lara Wood of Rainy River caught the only northern pike. It was 4lbs. and she won $125.
There were two tables in the cribbage tournament at the Morson Hall. Sheri Christianson and John McCormack won and received $40. High hand went to Cathy Moen and Sheri Christianson each with 20 pts. They won $8 each.
In house raffles were won as follows: Pots and pans-Dave Denouyer, Toolbox-Yvonne Gouliquer and T.V. Trays-Patsy Moen.
A total of 107 anglers registered for the derby. Organizer Sheila Gate said that number was down over last year but she blamed it on the cold weather.
