Rita Andy, 69

It is with sadness that the family of Rita Andy announces her passing on Sunday, February 26, 2006 at the Rainy River Hospital in Rainy River, Ontario.
Rita was born on October 2, 1936 in Lake of The Woods, Ontario to Alexander and Katie Gibbins. She was united in marriage to David Andy on October 12, 1964. She worked at various businesses in the Morson area including working as a clerk, housekeeper and commercial fishing. Before retiring she worked as a Caregiver for Big Grassy First Nation. Rita enjoyed knitting, sewing, and cooking. She loved children and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents; husband David on June 2, 2002; daughter Rose Andy on September 1, 1997; sisters Gladys Andy, Matilda Gibbins and Katherine Jennson; brothers Harry, James, Alexander Jr., Michael, Clifford, Lawrence, and Johnny Gibbins as well as twin brothers.
Rita leaves behind her children Greg, Florene (Ron Archie) and Ronda Andy; grandchildren Tanya Andy, Juanita Chang, Owen Chang, Justice Andy, Baby Boy Andy and Alex Andy; great grandsons Zacharia, Matthew; brother Leonard (Roberta) Gibbins; sisters Diane (Brian) Major and Janet (Lawrence) Larson as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
A visitation was held on Wednesday March 1, 2006 from 7 until 9 p.m. at the Rainy River Funeral Home in Rainy River, Ontario.
A funeral service was held on Thursday March 2, 2006 at 2 p.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church with Mr. Willie Longenecker officiating. Interment will take place in the Bergland Cemetery in Bergland, Ontario.
The pallbearers were Rita’s nephews; Ruben Gibbins, Jason Gibbins, Oliver Gibbins, Albert Gibbins, Curtis Thunder and Hugh Jennsen
