Jr. Girl Owls start season with a win against Rams

The new Rainy River High School Sports Season has started with the boys playing basketball and the girls playing volleyball.

The Owls played host to the Red Lake Rams last Thursday and unfortunately only the RrRJunior Girls Volleyball team was victorious. They won three games straight, 25-18, 25-20 and 25-23.

The Sr. Girls won one game 25-16 and then lost 25-23, 25-8 and 25-22.

In basketball action the Junior Boys lost 48-33 and the Senior Boys lost 45-27.

Next action at home for the Owls will be next Monday and Tuesday when they host Sioux Lookout and Ignace respectively. Start times are Noon and 1 p.m. respectively.
