Boshcoff prepares for new duties

News Release
Ken Boshcoff, MP

Ken Boshcoff M.P. Thunder Bay-Rainy River has just returned from meetings with officials with the Department of Natural Resources in preparation for his new duties as Associate Critic. The meetings were held to orientate Mr. Boshcoff on the many responsibilities of this federal department.
“The Natural Resources portfolio is of significant interest to Northwestern Ontario because of its involvement in forestry, mining, and energy. I will be promoting the need for a national policy discussion on clean coal technologies,” said Boshcoff. “Many provinces are using clean coal to generate electricity that is both cheap and environmentally safe. I believe that a federal policy on this issue would assist the Province of Ontario in recognizing the value in continuing coal generation.”
Boshcoff continued, “In addition, rapid new discoveries and claims could make this region a world capital for mining with direct benefits to all in the Northwest.”
