News Release
NWCDSB
The Northwest Catholic District School Board would like to announce that all restrictions placed on drinking water at Our Lady of the Way School in Stratton have been lifted. The school’s water treatment system was converted to an utra-violet system in November 2005 and since that time has been encountering Psudomonas Aeeruginosa in water samples.
Several procedures were enacted to remove the bacteria in the past few months and as of March 17, 2005 the Board has received 3 consecutive water samples indicating zero levels of bacteria. With the approval of the Northwestern health Unit and the Ministry of the Environment, the water was declared fit to drink on March 17, 2006.
During this period of the restriction the school has been providing bottled water for students and staff.
