Season looks promising for RRHS soccer teams

Rainy River High School’s soccer season is now underway and it looks as though it could be a stellar season for both boys and girls teams.
Over the weekend they travelled to Fort Frances for an exhibition tournament and both did really well there. The boys won three and tied one. They defeated Sioux Lookout (3-0), Red Lake (4-0) and Dryden (3-2). They tied against Thomas Aquinas (1-1).
The girls tied three games and lost one. They tied Thomas Aquinas (1-1), Sioux Lookout (2-2) and Red Lake (1-1). They lost to Dryden (0-1).
RRHS Athletic Director Guy Arpin is really pumped up about the season noting that the boys won NORWOSSA’s the last three years. If that happens again this year RRHS will host the boys NWOSSA’s (May 26-27th).
The next action for both teams

is this weekend in Dryden for another exhibition tournament.
NORWOSSAs are May 18th in Kenora.
If the girls win NORWOSSA’s

they will travel to the North Shore region and if they win there girls OFSAA’s are in Kenora this year.
