Strawberry social is tomorrow

Twelve members came to our regular meeting and as usual we opened with the auxiliary prayer.

The last minutes were read and approved. In business arising from the minutes, it was noted we had a booth at the Health and Wellness Fair, and helped serve the lunch. Also several of our members attended a meeting regarding the Beautification of the town, and we will participate.

Correspondence was two “Thank You’s” one from Riverside for our donation to Oscar night, the other from Gracy Renier for acknowledging her in secretary week. We also recognized the secretaries within our own hospital by presenting each with a floral arrangement.

In new business, due to reading the revised auxiliary by-laws, we now have Laureen Hannam as past president, and Audree Paulson as 1st vice and Betty Blight as 2nd vice president.

In recognition of Nurses’ week, some of our members will be serving cake and tea or coffee at the tuck shop in the hospital. On Wednesday the 10th we will cater to a Mother’s Day Party, a joint party for both the residents from the hospital and those who come to the R.R.A.D.

There will be a planning meeting on the 29th of May at the hospital. Most members will help. We are also doing meals on wheels for the month of May.

Our last order of the day was the Strawberry Social to be at the Legion on May 17th from 2-4 p.m. Members will set up in the morning, bring penny table items then or leave with Gill Stamler or Myrna Armstrong.
This concluded our meeting. The next one will be a luncheon at the drop in centre, on June 12th. Cost is $10.00 and leave money at Susan’s Corner Store by the 8th. See you all there.
