Ellen May Stutvoet, 86
Ellen died peacefully on Thursday, May 11th, 2006 at the La Verendrye Hospital Continuous Care Unit in Fort Frances, Ont. She is survived by her husband Henry and lovingly remembered by her sister Georgina Whitlaw and her husband John (Winnipeg, Man) as well as several nieces and nephews in Nolalu, Sudbury and Sarnia, Ont, Fort Gratiote, Mich and New Castle, NB. She was predeceased by her parents Thomas James Code and Evelyn May (Steen) Code and her younger sisters Muriel Kiddle (Sudbury), Gwendolyn Mott (Sarnia) and Iris Allan (Atikokan). Ellen was born in Port Arthur, Ontario on October 19th, 1919 and lived in Atikokan from birth until she moved to Stratton with her husband in 1961. Ellen and Henry farmed for a number of years. During her farm years she was active in 4H and other community organizations. Ellen worked as the Clerk Treasurer of Morley Municipality for several years, retiring in 1984. After retirement she and Henry remained on the farm property for several years and continued to enjoy camping and fishing with friends and family. In 2003 they moved to the Morley Morningside Manor. A memorial service for Ellen was held in Stratton, Ont on Tuesday, May 16th, 2006. The service was conducted by Rev. B. Miller. Cremation has taken place and interment will be in the family plot at Stanley Hill Cemetery, Stanley, Ontario. If friends so desire donations in Ellen‚s memory may be made to the charity of their choice or the Ontario Lung Association.
