Aux. plants flowers at hospital
Our luncheon meeting had 22 members present. After saying Grace, we all enjoyed a very delicious meal, catered by Chester Fried Chicken. Thank you girls. Following this we had our regular meeting.
The minutes read and the financial report given. In business arising from the minutes, it was noted: the kitchen staff were each given a pin in appreciation for help given, and we had coffee and cake for the nursing staff in appreciation for nurses week. Several members came and planted flowers, in the planters and in front of the hospital.
Fran Faragher offered to do the watering for the summer. Thank you Fran.
The birds for the aviary have arrived (12 finches) and are now happy in their new home. Karen Antonson will look after them, however volunteers are needed in case Karen can’t do it. If you can help let Tammy McNally or Marilyn Hanson know at the hospital. Correspondence included; an invitation to the Grand opening of the LaVerendrye Hospital expansion on June 22 at 11:30 tour and lunch to follow, also a card of Thank You from Riverside thanking us for establishing the aviary in our hospital, an invitation for members to come to the Staff Appreciation B.B.Q. being held here at the hospital June 21st. The Student Council requesting help with their Chem Free Grad party. We will donate $50.00 towards this. New business, Myrna Armstrong handed out certificates of Appreciation and a rose to eleven long standing members for all the work they have done. Some members go back to I think 1982. Also Laureen Hannam is now officially a life member of the H.A.A.O. She received her pin at our meeting and will be inducted at the Toronto Conference in November 2006. This conclude our meeting. There are no meetings in July and August, so our next one is on Sept. 11th at the hospital at 1:30. Enjoy your summer, and we will see you at our meeting in September.
