Designed to be weak

Our Lord is called a Gentle Shepherd. He tenderly cares for us and knows we are human. He is not expecting us to be perfect, because He created us as imperfect beings so that we would need Him. That’s right, God wants to be needed.
The Apostle Paul says:
2 Corinthians 12:9-10
9 Each time he said, “My gracious favor is all you need. My power works best in your weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may work through me. 10 Since I know it is all for Christ’s good, I am quite content with my weaknesses and with insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
As humans, we try so hard to be perfect in most things we do. Some are pro’s at it and others have given up because they cannot meet the standards set before them.
How did our faith get so tangled up in this when God is not expecting us to live by that standard? He knows we’ll need his help. He helps me with my faith. He knows I can’t live my life in dedication to Him at all without Him. Yet, we try so hard. We strive so hard to be good.
Does God want us to be good? Yes, because He is good. But left alone without His help and strength we cannot be good and He knows and understands. Just look at our world. Without God, there is evil not good.
So, is it wrong to be weak? No. It is good to recognize it so we can get strength from Him. Whether we’re physically weak, emotionally weak or spiritually weak, His strength can be given to us.
Matthew 12:20, 21
20 He will not crush those who are weak, or quench the smallest hope, until he brings full justice with his final victory.
21 And his name will be the hope of all the world.”
He will not crush those who are weak or quench the smallest hope.
Our town looks like it is weakening. However, by His strength we can be strong. We, as weak citizens, can rely on His strength to bless our community in our individual lives, spiritually, financially, physically and also corporately as we stand in the strength that He has to change Rainy River area into a prosperous place.
2 Timothy 1:12
For I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day.
Who keeps our commitments to God?
He does. His strength given in my weakness can keep my commitments to Him.
Are you weak physically or spiritually? Ask Him for His strength.
We ask for Your strength Lord to touch us in Rainy River. Touch our bodies and our businesses, our homes, and our faith in You. We recognize we’re weak but in You we are strong.
Blessings on all
