Annual fish fry and a whole lot more at Morson Bass International
Rosemary Laevens
Morson W.I.
Laurie Pentney presided over the July 27th meeting of the Morson W.I.
Plans were made for the Saturday August l9th fish fry at the 2nd Annual International Morson Bass International. It was decided that because of the higher prices we are paying for fish etc. this year, to raise the price of the adult’s meal to $13.00 and the children’s meal to $7.00. This includes home-made pie for dessert. Come and enjoy the fish fry! Come and enjoy the excitement and fun at the Morson Bass International on August l9th and 20th! Morson W.I. members are also selling hamburgers etc. as we did last year.
The usual W.I. cooks and workers agreed to prepare the food and man the serving stations. We are fortunate to have so many willing members. There is now a deep freeze at the Morson Hall, which will help with food storage and preparation. Members agreed to cater to two large local functions, in July and September, next year.
It was decided to donate $150.00 to the Morson Bass International, to help with advertising. Laurie Pentney will put a fish-fry ad in the paper.
At this meeting, Barb Zebleckis gave a report on the progress of the cell tower being erected at Bergland. When it is finished, people in the Morson area should be able to use their cell phones.
Rosemary Laevens read an article from the July l8th Baudette Region, regarding the discussion of cormorants by LOW county board members. She will keep us informed about any following reports.
Morson W.I. will host the fall tea at the Emo Museum.
