Be sure to Ask, Seek and Knock on a regular basis
Fr. Dan Debano

Little children, at times, can truly be the best examples of how we are to live out our faith.
Have you ever witnessed a 6-year old in the aisles of a toy store? Or a 10-year old as he enters the gates of an amusement park on a hot summer day? For both of these children, the world is at their fingertips, and they’ll undoubtedly seek to make the most they can out of their day. We know that they are overflowing with excitement, and will not be timid in making all of their wishes known to Mom and Dad.
Even though our younger years for some of us may be well behind us, God still asks us to maintain a childlike faith in Him. Life can certainly be burdensome as we juggle the multitude of tasks and responsibilities associated with work and our state in life. All too often we become overwhelmed and overburdened. We easily forget to do three basic actions.
·ASK -Don’t hesitate to call out to our Father in Heaven. Children are the best “askers.” Cry out to Him and ask for His help. Theirs is no job too big for Him.
·SEEK-Be careful no to let complacency or self-pity keep you stuck in what ever may be weighing you down. It has been said that “the wise still seek Him.”
·KNOCK -There are 24 hours in a day which calculates out to 168 hours a week. Take just 1 hour out of these 168 hours, and open the door of a church or a place of worship. Jesus is waiting for you to spend time with Him.
Whatever prayers we as individuals or as a community need answered, Our Lord is waiting for US to “ask” to “seek” and to “knock.”
Lord Jesus, help us to be more childlike in our faith and to entrust everything to you! We want to rely on YOU everyday by asking, by seeking, and by knocking. Amen
