Highway 11 closed over weekend due to accident
News Release
OPP
On August 18th, shortly before noon, officers from the Emo Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police investigated a single motor vehicle collision on Highway #11, approximately 2 kilometers east of Emo. An eastbound tractor-trailer unit hauling gasoline and diesel fuel attempted to pass a road-painting vehicle on the south gravel shoulder. The portion of the gravel shoulder collapsed causing the fuel truck to roll over into the ditch coming to rest on its side. The driver of the fuel truck did not sustain any injuries.
The portion of Highway #11 between Emo Road and Cooper Road remained closed until approximately 2:00 a.m. on August 19th, while the over-turned fuel truck was unloaded and removed from the scene. The fuel tank remained in tact during the collision. The OPP has concluded the investigation with no charges being laid.
