The Morson Bass International kids tournament grew this year from 19 kids last year to 25 this year and their fishing was equally impressive Saturday afternoon.
Last year’s champ, Tyler Thunder of Rainy River caught the first fish of the day and did not stop until he had secured the title for a second year running. He caught an impressive ten perch off the Government Dock. For his efforts he received a fishing rod/reel and trophy.
Coming in second was Jacob Jack of Morson with seven perch. He received a tent.
Event organizers Willie and Rhode Longnecker said that there were many kids with two or three perch. There were 39 perch caught on the day.
Every participant received a prize package and a Morson Bass International t-shirt.
