Bergland bingos to end tonight

After 16 years no one will be yelling “Bingo” on Tuesdays in Bergland anymore. This evening, August 29th, will be the last Tuesday night weekly bingo night at the Bergland Hall. Event coordinator Sheila Gate told the Record Monday that the number of volunteers to run it has dwindled to just an handful of the same people every week. “We are tired of be tied down and without more help we can’t keep going.” So a decision to cancel the weekly activity that on average attracts 30-55 people was made. Gate said that if another group of volunteers came forward and wanted to run it they could keep it going, but of late there has been just a few people interested in running it. The last bingo will run tonight at 7 p.m. at the Bergland Hall.
