Who will lead us forward?

At present it appears no one is interested in running for Rainy River Town Council or Mayor. As of Friday no one had filed for any of the four seats on council or the mayor’s seat.
Only Rainy River District School Board incumbent Ron McAlister has filed with intention to seek reelection.
The deadline to file papers to run for any of the offices mention is September 29, 2006.
If no one runs the existing council continues to hold office until another nomination period and election can be held.
