The twenty some ladies first enjoyed a fabulous Pot luck luncheon complete with pink flamingo cookies and flamingo cake. Lord Archie donned his red cap and took the ladies for a river boat cruise after lunch. While one group toured the beautiful Rainy River the others divided into three groups for Bocce Ball. We spent a lovely sunny afternoon with fine weather. The door prize (pink flamingo feathered pen) being won by Lady Three Wheeler, Marlene Frank.

Later in July we celebrated another 100th, this time the birthday party of Pearl McKay formerly of Rainy River. Pearl’s party was held in Fort Frances, and several red hatters attended her coronation as Honorary Queen of Les Rouge Rouges. Pearl read her vows and received a crown and banner, along with cards & birthday wishes from red hatters around the world. Our active Honorary Queen Isabella (McInnes) was in attendance and also bestowed well wishes to Pearl.

Our gathering activity was blowing bubbles. Soon after we were divided into four teams for the Olympics. Our games consisted of a relay with two water filled balloons, an over and under game again with water filled balloons, and shaving the balloons. We were given a serrated plastic knife to accomplish the task. The Queen led off with singing “Do your balloons hang low, do they wobble to and fro” to which everyone joined in. We had three winners and soon after the shaving cream was flying as the ladies tried to cover each other. There was lots of fun and screaming going on, especially when Lady Trillium took the water hose to the Queen. .
Our Senior Olympics Event concluded with a lovely lunch, fresh fruit salad and ice cream sundaes, punch and finally some rain!
