RRWT makes some changes
Ken Johnston
In case you have not noticed there are a few big changes to the RRWT this year.
For the past seven years fishing has taken place on Saturday and Sunday.
However, this year that is all about to change.
While the RRWT is still going to be two days in length it has been moved up a day. Fishing will now be on Friday and Saturday and the time for weigh-ins will be later on the first day. The move will allow anglers to let their hair down with the fans Saturday evening at the dance and not have to worry about rushing home after a long couple of days on the water.
In the past anglers had to be in off the water starting at 3:45 p.m. This year they will begin coming in at 4:45 p.m. on Friday. Final weigh-ins on Saturday will begin at 2:45 p.m.
Also different this year is the number of teams fishing.
Growing from a field of 43 teams in the first tournament, 1999, the RRWT will now have 84 teams on the water.
That is up from 81 last year and there are still teams on a waiting list to get into the mix.
