Phyllis Ethel Millsap, 94
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and great grandmother and sister, Phyllis Millsap of River Avenue E., Rainy River, Ontario who passed away on Saturday, September 9th, 2006 at her home in Rainy River, Ontario.
Phyllis was born on November 7, 1911 in Rainy River, Ontario to the late Ernest and Gertrude Calvert. Phyllis graduated from the University of Toronto at the age of 20. Upon returning to Rainy River, she worked at Calverts Camps on Lake of the Woods for many years, as well as working at the Family Pharmacy in Rainy River, Ontario. She was united in marriage to Clifford Millsap in 1938, and started raising their family. Phyllis was past member of both the Eastern Star and the Miriam Rebeka Lodge for many years. She also was a member of St. James Anglican Church in Rainy River. Phyllis enjoyed traveling extensively, and spending as much time as possible with her family. She also enjoyed playing cards at the Senior Centres in both Rainy River and Baudette. She was an avid gardener, and loved to cook, prepare meals and bake for her family, friends and the many local charities in her community. She also was very proud to have recently passed her driving test and still able to drive her car into her golden years.
She was predeceased by her husband Clifford Millsap in 1981; and by her only sister Irene Warner of Rainy River, Ontario.
Phyllis is survived by her daughter, Anne and husband Dennis Smith of Pinawa, MB; two grandsons, Tim Smith of Winnipeg, MB and Randy Smith and wife Heather of Estavan, MB; two great grandsons Richard (Sandy) and Chris (Leanne) Smith, and one great great granddaughter Paige Smith all of Winnipeg, MB; one brother Jack Calvert of International Falls, MN and numerous nieces & nephews & their families.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, September 15, 2006 at 2 p.m. at St. James Anglican Church in Rainy River, Ontario with Reverend Georgina Connors officiating. Interment will take place in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Rainy River, Ontario.
