Class sizes just below average at Riverview School

Class sizes at Riverview School are slightly below average when compared to the rest of the Rainy River District School Board.
In a report to be issued at the monthly board meeting tonight, January 15th, all elementary schools were listed. As of Oct. 31, 2001 there was 786 students enrolled from grades Junior Kindergarten to 3. There are 46.4 classes thus there are 16.94 pupils in each of them on average.
At Riverview School in Rainy River there are 64.5 pupils in grades JK-3 with 4.17 classes for an average of 15.48.
McCrosson-Tovell School in Bergland has 20 students in JK-3 with 1.14 classes for an average of 17.54.
In total there are 1,866.5 students enrolled with the board in grades JK-8 and there are 90 classrooms for an average classroom population of 20.74.
Riverview’s total enrollment is 143 with 7 classes for an average of 20.5.
McCrosson-Tovell has a total enrollment of 48 with 3 classrooms for an average of 16.
The lowest JK-3 average was 12.50 at the Sixth Street School in Fort Frances and the highest was 20.70 at FH Huffman Public School in Fort Frances.
The lowest JK-8 average was 12.50 at the Sixth Street School and the highest was 24.67 at Atikokan Elementary School.
