It has been in the works for some time now, but it finally happened on November 2nd.
The Morson cell phone tower was powered up and turned on for people to use.
“It is up and running and taking traffic,” said Ross Desjardins of Thunder Bay Telephone.
However, the much anticipated broadband network that will bring affordable high speed internet to area residents have not been turned on yet.
Roy Stock of Thunder Bay Telephone told the Record last week that, “There is a little work to be done. We have to do some testing on the main gear and then we will be connecting all of them together.”
Stock said that will happen very soon and that the price of high speed internet will be very competitive with Bell Sympatico.
