Legion Ladies Aux.

The local branch of the Legion Ladies Auxiliary held its general meeting on November 8th, presided by President Verna Barsy. Acting secretary Janet Schaff read the minutes of the October meeting.
Accounts were presented and authorized for payment. Treasurer Donna Ivall gave an account of the auxiliary’s finances. Correspondence was read and dealt with as required. A letter from the Lung Association requesting a donation was read. Moved by Beatie Nault and seconded by Joanne Giles that we donate $100.00. It was noted that we donate to this organization twice every year. The Alzheimer’s Society requested the use of the kitchen for their annual dinner on January 20, 2007. This was granted.
The president thanked the members who donated & helped with the Veterans Tea on November 5th. The tea was a big success with over 150 people attending.
We wish to thank everyone for coming out and supporting this worthy cause. Verna reported on her visits to different members who are not well.
Our next meeting will be on December 13th. This is the Christmas meeting with a diner at 6 p.m. and a gift exchange. Members are requested to bring a gift with a value of $10.00. Election of officers will take place with installation in January. Our donation to the Legion Branch will be made at this meeting. Ladies, please remember that membership dues are now due for the following year.
