O.P.P. convince barricaded man to surrender

(Fort Frances, Ontario) During the early morning hours of November 18th, officers from the Rainy River Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police arrested the driver of a vehicle on Highway #11 near Worthington Road #2 after observing the vehicle being operated in an erratic manner. Craig McKinnon, age 30 of Fort Frances, has been charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Failing to Provide a Breath Sample. McKinnon has been released from custody and will appear in court at a later date.
On November 19th, shortly after 5:00 a.m. officers from the Fort Frances OPP responded to a disturbance in the 100 block of Fourth Street West. As a result of that investigation police arrested and charged Joshua Smith, age 18 of Fort Frances, with Assault with a Weapon. Smith is scheduled to appear in court on December 18th.
Further, on November 19th, at approximately 9:30 a.m. police arrested two men for
breaching the conditions of previous release orders. Kiel Martin, age 22 of Fort Frances and Christopher Trapp, age 23 of Watten Township, have each been charged with Failing to Comply with an Undertaking. Both men have been remanded into custody and will appear in court on November 20th.
On November 16th, shortly after 9:00 p.m. officers from the Emo Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police responded to a domestic disturbance at a Cemetery Road residence located in Devlin. Prior to police arriving at the scene the victim was able to leave the residence.
Officers negotiated with a male suspect barricaded inside of the residence. During this time the OPP’s Emergency Response Team and Canine Unit were activated. The suspect remained in his residence until approximately 4:30 a.m. at which time he emerged from the residence and surrendered to police.
A 56 year-old Devlin man was taken into custody.
