Businesses kick season off with a "Passport to Christmas"

Only a few days until Santa Claus is coming to town!
But the local merchants have already caught the Christmas Spirit, offering customers a “Passport to Christmas” promotion.
Starting today, all 16 participating businesses (Beaver Mills Market, Chester Fried Chicken, Rainy River Drugs, Susan’s Corner Store, Kreger Auto, The Cut Above, Woods Quality Bakery, The Source by Circuit City, Rainy River Legion, Rainy River True Value, Roadside Restaurant, Glenda’s Hairstyling, Lowes Furniture & Appliances, CN Hotel, Border Service and the Rainy River Record, will begin stamping passports that are inserted in today’s paper.
When you make a $10 or more purchase at the participating businesses they will stamp your passport (some restrictions may apply at some businesses). You can go shopping at them all right away and get your stamps or get as many as you like until December 17th. Once you have your passport as full as you can get it drop it off with your name and phone number on it at the Rainy River Post Office. After the 17th two draws will be held. The first prize will be $20 (in gift certificates from participating businesses) times the number of stamps the winning passport has on it (note you do not have to fill the passport completely to enter the draw). A second prize of $10 (in gift certificates from participating businesses) times the number of stamps on it will be drawn that day too. Then watch the December 19th Record to see who won!
The more businesses you patronize the more you could win! So be sure to get around and have your passport stamped at all the great local businesses!
