Police arrest man for impaired driving
News Release
OPP
(Fort Frances, Ontario) On November 24th, shortly after 7:00 p.m. officers from the Emo Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police stopped a vehicle on Off Lake Road. Police had been investigating earlier reports of night hunting taking place in the area. As a result of the vehicle stop officers arrested James Dale, age 48 of Marathon, with operation of a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol concentration over 80 milligrams and driving a motor vehicle with liquor readily available. Dale was released from custody and will appear in court at a later date.
The OPP would also like to remind all motorists to exercise caution when traveling on area roads and highways. Weather conditions can be variable and unpredictable so slow down and adjust to changing road conditions. It is estimated that driving error causes 85% of collisions. Many of these are the result of driving too fast for road conditions. Police would also like to remind the public to call 1-800-465-5032 for updates on weather conditions in the area.
