Lloyd Helmer Jenson, 86

Lloyd Helmer Jenson, age 86, of Rainy River, Ontario passed away on Sunday, November 26, 2006 at the Rainy River Hospital with his grandson by his side.
Lloyd was born on February 21, 1920 in Wabonica, Minnesota to Ingvald and Martha Jenson. He lived in Rainy River most of his life. He served as a Peacekeeper during the Second World War. After the war he settled in Rainy River working as a carpenter. He built a lot of the homes here. In his spare time he loved to cook. He would put on Smorgasbords at the Rainy River Hotel and host wild game parties for family and friends.
He is survived by his daughter Louanne Scott of Lethbridge, AB; son-law Dave Scott of Morson, ON, grandson James Eastman of Morson, ON and granddaughter Crystal Eastman of Winnipeg, MB; 3 great grandchildren Leslie, Brandon and Elizabeth; sister Evangeline Moisson of Kimberly, B.C.; brother Clifford Jenson of Rainy River as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Lloyd was predeceased by his parents Ingvald and Martha Jenson and two brothers Earl and Louis.
A funeral service was held on Friday, December 1, 2006 at 2 p.m. at the Knox United Church in Rainy River, Ontario with Lay Pastor Carolyn Kreger officiating. Interment took place in the McInnes Creek Cemetery.
The active pallbearers were James Eastman, Mike King, Bob Jenson, Bernie Jenson, John King, and Hughie Jensson.
The honorary pallbearers were Jim McLean, Ross McLean, Bobby Locking, Jack Miller, Jerry Byington, Dale Lowes, Larry Budreau, and Lou Nicholson.
