Owls merchandise available just in time for the holidays

RRHS Sports Committee

Just in time for the holidays, Rainy River High School Sports Committee is now selling Owls merchandise. There are fleece toques, scarves, blankets and mittens.
The originals designed and sewn by Laurie Kuzyk, Cathy Seguin, Jennelle and Darren Lowes. Thanks to them for all their help. The sewing will now be taken over by the students on the committee. So come and buy some blue and gold. The Owl pom poms, water bottles and bandanas have also arrived and would make an excellent present for both current and past students of Rainy River High School.
Everyone is welcome to come and watch the home games of the High School Sports. The first set of games are today starting at 10:00 am and will run until about 4:00 pm in the Rainy River High School Gym. The Basketball and Volleyball team play the Atikokan Voyageurs here in Rainy River. The next home game will be on Thursday December 7 against Whitefish Bay, starting with the Senior Boys basketball at 11:00 am.
The curlers will open their season in Atkokian on December 10th.
In hockey last week the girls beat B.E.S.T.E. 7-1, with local girls Brenley scoring 3 goals with 1 assist and Seneca Brown scoring 1 goal with 2 assists. Way to go girls.
The boys game against Kittson Central was postponed due to the weather.
This week the girls will be once again playing B.E.S.T.E on December 9th and then they will travel to East Grand Forks on the 12th. The boys will be playing Warroad on Tuesday December 9th (5:15 -JV / 7:30 Varsity) and then on Saturday they will play Orono (5:00 - JV / 7:00 - Varsity). Both games will be in Baudette.
If anyone is interested in buying a quilt square for the fundraiser, please contact Dayna Seguin at the High School. The sewing is about to begin so get your forms in as soon as possible.
